Don’t call it a comeback…

1 01 2010

…I’ve been here for (approximately) a year. It’s kind of hard to believe that a year has passed since I started this here blog. I have to admit that I’m horribly guilty of neglecting it as of late, but that’s all going to change. With a new year, and a new decade for that matter, comes new resolutions.

There are two schools of thought when it comes to New Year’s resolutions. One being that they’re completely useless and the other being that it doesn’t hurt to try and start the New Year off on the right foot. I’m a glass half-full kind of guy so I subscribe to the latter. I figure that even if only one or two of these resolutions stick, it can’t be a bad thing. So here goes…

  1. Keep the blog(s) up-to-date.
  2. Take pictures more often.
  3. Maintain a regular gym routine.
  4. Practice cooking more often.

I think that just about does it. Happy New Year everyone!

Insomnia

2 10 2009

With insomnia, nothing’s real.

Everything’s far away.

Everything’s a copy, of a copy, of a copy.

Rain Dance

29 09 2009

I’m convinced getting my car washed is the equivalent of a Native American rain dance. Tell me why we’ve been having weather around 100 degrees for the past few weeks, I decide to get my car washed and all of a sudden it’s overcast and drizzling the next day. I’m just sayin’.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

29 09 2009

One of my favorite quotes from my man Ralph Waldo Emerson. Not only is it one of the most profound things I’ve ever read, but it’s also one of the longest sentences I’ve ever encountered. Can’t be mad at that.

“To laugh often and much, to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children, to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends, to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others, to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition, to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived, THIS is to have succeeded.” -RWE

“Hi, I’m Autumn.”

22 09 2009

If you keep up with this blog or have a basic grasp of the monthly calendar, you can probably tell I’ve been on a bit of a hiatus from updating this sucker. I wish I could blame it all on the birthday madness that ensued during the month of August, but we are now well into September so I guess I’ll have to pin some of the blame on my good friend laziness.

So why start updating now? Well just the other day a friend of mine asked me to tell her a fun factoid about myself, so I decided to ignore the part about the factoid having to be fun and told her I was one of the bajillion or so people in the world who kept a blog. So now I figured I had better update this just in case she decides to read this one day.

That AND today is the first day of autumn, which means it’s time to shake off the lazy days of summer and focus on finishing the year on a strong note. Weee!

Shouts:

  • To all the people who contributed to the aforementioned birthday madness, you know who you are. It was def one to remember.
  • Thanks for the accidental motivation Em!

Rockin’ The B-Side

21 07 2009

Have I mentioned that I contribute to another blog called The B-Side? So if you haven’t checked it out, I think you should. It features contributions from my good friends Arlene, Char, GiGi, and Philup. We touch on everything from music, art, fashion, photography, and all that good stuff. Kind of like this blog, but infinitely more interesting. While you’re at it, make sure to check out their individial blogs too. Tell ‘em Pepper sent you.

Guess Who’s Bizzack?

20 04 2009

Wow, I just noticed I’ve been seriously neglecting this blog over the past two months. I guess you could say I’ve been busy with life, but that should mean I should have more to blog about right? The problem is, since I’m busy with life I don’t have time to blog about the stuff I could be blogging about. Conundrum.

Regardless, it’s time to get back on the (blogging) grind. You’ll be hearing from me again soon.
