Typhoon Ondoy Relief

I’m sure by now many of you have heard about the damage that Typhoon Ondoy has brought to the Philippines. If you haven’t, the storms that took place just the other day brought a month’s worth of rainfall to the greater Manila area in just a few hours. The severe flooding caused by the storm has resulted in the loss of many lives and damage to hundreds of thousands of homes.

So what can you do to help? For monetary donations please visit The Philippine National Red Cross. For those of you in the San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, and New Jersey areas that would prefer to make donations in the form of clothes, blankets, medical supplies, etc., please visit here for a list of drop-off sites.

iPhone 3G S

Apple unveiled its new iPhone 3G S at their annual Worldwide Developers Conference today. You can check out the details on the new phone here. Personally, I wasn’t that impressed. Where is the 4G network, 12 megapixel camera, and voice automated texting? I think I’ll stick with my first generation iPhone…copped on release date nonetheless. Gangsta shiiit.

…and for those of you on a super tight budget, there’s always the Apple Phone.

Inauguration

Today is a historic day and personally I’m excited about the possibilities and opportunities that are ahead of us. I think that for the first time in a long time, the government is going to start working for the majority of Americans rather than entrusting the well-being of our citizens to those with the money and power. I wasn’t around back then, but I can only imagine that this is what people felt like when JFK took office.

Obviously there are people in San Francisco who are also pretty excited about today because someone took the time to change all of the Bush Street signs to say “Obama.” Again, it wasn’t just one sign. ALL of them. Genius.
